Mimi’s hands

Every year we wonder how many more Thanksgiving or Christmases we will have with our beloved Mimi. She is ninety four or ninety five and she is still kicking! She can’t see at all any more but her voice is very strong and she can is as sharp as a whip. She told us that she plans on living until she is one hundred years old and then she is checking out. Haha she is the craziest. I love her hands. They are so smooth yet so experienced with so much. Those hands taught my grandma how to cook, whose hands taught my mom to cook. Her hands are always firm but so soft. They have so much character just like her.

Thanksgiving 2015

Food food food!! This is why I love this time of year! My moms side of the family can cook sooooo good! We had so much food and so many delicious desserts! It was great to spend the day with family that I haven’t seen since last Christmas! I got to see my cousins for the first time in a long time and I loved every minute of it! We laughed and had fun and ate lots of food. It was the first time Holliday I’ve spent with my mom since she’s been home too. It made me so happy to be with the people that I love the most. I am so thankful for them.

Christmas tree at home

My house is unlike many houses around this time of year. It’s not even thanksgiving, and my grandma has put up every bit of Christmas decorations up in the house. We have three Christmas trees, a huge mantle piece, and a stair garland that does all the way up the stairs. I love it this time of year! The air is cold, the music of Christmas fills the radio and commercials, and the stores are full of gifts about to be given! I can’t wait for Christmas and I can’t wait for the family to be together again!

Throwback about 25 years

My parents have been divorced for almost 16 years now. My grandmother sent me this picture today and it put a smile on my face. Seeing that my parents used to be so incredibly happy at one time just amazes me. It makes me happy. I sent this picture to my mom, who is going through a rough depression, said that the picture made her smile and made her think of the happiest time in her life. It is bitter sweet because I know how happy they once were but I know that everything happens for a reason! It’s good to see that they didn’t end thinking that their marriage was completely terrible. It’s heart warming knowing that they were both crazy in love at one point and thy are quick to admit it.

Lake Tech

Sometimes I feel like Arkansas Tech should put on their application for students, “do you own a scuba suit, because if you don’t you will need one for the days it rains”. The flooding is so bad here in the river valley and especially on campus here at tech. I’ve come to notice that most girls don’t own rain boots compared to the ones who do. And an umbrella is definitely not enough. Today when I was walking to class, the water was almost up to my shins. I know that everything that is needed for this campus will cost money, but tech seriously needs to consider getting more drainages for the side walks from building to building.

Positive Circle

Tonight I went to Conway to cheer at one of there local gyms. The entire cheer team of the university of central Arkansas was there. I cheer with all of them on our summer cheer coaching team, The national cheerleaders association. It was so good to see them all, but one in particular. This is Kynzlie. She has been one of my great friends for a few years now. I hadn’t seen her in almost a year. I could tell she had been crying and was sad and then when she saw me she completely lit up with happiness. It just feels good to know that you can make a positive impact on someone just by making an apearance. I completely changed her night around and I was so glad I could have been that positive person to make her night.

Best Dad Award

I know everyone thinks that their parents are the best parents in the world when they make posts about them. It’s almost like a contest sometimes on who’s parent is “actually” the best. My dad is one of those I would through in the contest. My dad is so goofy and so full of love all the time. I am an only child and he toughens me up like a big brother and loves me and spoils me like the daddies girl I am. He is constantly building character in me and I can’t imagine having any other dad. He teaches me everything a boy should know about cars, fishing, and how to shoot a gun. He’s got the parenting thing down right. His birthday was last week and I wish I could have put it into words how much he means to me but words just can’t match the feeling. I really do have the best dad ever.
