Counting my blessings

This weekend one of my best friends tried to commit suicide. Thankfully, his attempt wasn’t successful, but by the grace of God he is alive today. He got really drunk and then took a whole bottle of Benedryl. What he didn’t know was, when taking that much of Benedryl, if acts as a speed instead of a depressant and it speeds his heart rate up instead of making him go to sleep. He realizes now how stupid it was to do that and he is not getting counseling and therapy to deal with this situation. Life is too precious and too short to take it for granted. I don’t know what I would have done if I would have lost him. I am so incredibly thankful that God gave him another chance.
